why am i always hungry

.....Maybe you're not!!

It's my first day back at work after my break in Europe, I'm pumped to get stuff done but I keep getting abruptly interrupted.....not by the kids this time.....but my stomach. It is signalling, heavily signally for me to make my way to the kitchen and snack....The thing is 30 minutes after the said snack of almonds, its signalling me to go again to the kitchen again.

It is....irritating to say the least and damn inconvenient and I know its not healthy. I just can't get satiated with what I eat...... then i get it.....I am not hungry, not even greedy, just very, very thirsty.

We are in the middle of Sydney spring and my iPhone is reporting a temp of 31 degrees, I am not used to it after my stint away and my body is going a bit wah wah.

I am not hungry, I am simply dehydrated.

Despite drinking heaps and heaps of water (seriously heaps), I obviously am not drinking enough to counteract this heat surge. Causing my body to confuse, as it often does the feeling of thirst with that of hunger.

So what does this mean for you?

It means that none of us are safe from feeling the pain (and fake hunger) of being dehydrated, including a water lover like me. Of course this is an extreme case, but it is important to remember that being dehydrated is not reserved just for the high temperatures. In fact us are in a constant state of dehydration, hot days or not and are totally oblivious to it.

By the time your body gets to tell you that you are thirsty, it is already too late, you already are in a state of dehydration. Your job is to make sure you don't even get to this point.

1.5 to 2 litres of water should be drank everyday. Yep that is a hell of a lot of water if you are not used to drinking it. But what i advise is before you put yourself down to being constantly in starvation, ensure you are drinking enough of the clear stuff.

A great rule of thumb is that you have a large glass of water whenever you feel hungry.

A couple of pints of water down and i am sorted.

So what do you think? Any of this sound familiar? I would love to hear from you
